REGATTA KALA KENDRA - ACADEMY OF SOUTH INDIAN CLASSICAL DANCE was established by leading Indo-Canadian dancer, choreographer and teacher Harikishan S Nair. The name Regatta was named after his dance school in kerala, in thiruvananthapuram, Regatta Cultural Society found by his Guru Girija Chandran, whose artistic vision has inspired him and moulded him as an Artist. The word Regatta means 'boat race' or rowing towards the success. The Academy is at the forefront of training in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam, the south Indian classical Indian dance forms. Regatta Kala Kendra was founded with the vision of engaging future generations of Canadians in this rich classical dance forms. Classes will be conducted in different locations in GTA.
